Where to Eat Near Downtown Aberdeen Hotels: A Traveler’s Guide to Dining at Roma Ristorante Italiano

Why Roma is a natural choice for downtown hotel guests

Located in the heart of downtown Aberdeen, Roma Ristorante Italiano sits in a historic, comfortable space that many visitors describe as classy yet relaxed. Travelers often tell local hosts they wanted a reliable Italian meal after a long drive or day of meetings — and Roma consistently comes up as a go‑to for both the flavor and welcoming hospitality.

A very short walk from nearby hotels

Roma’s address at 104 S Main St places it within easy walking distance of hotels in downtown Aberdeen. Several guests report strolling down from the adjoining hotel after check‑in and finding dinner service convenient and timely. If you’re staying downtown, plan for a 2–10 minute walk depending on your hotel — no long taxi ride required.

First impressions: atmosphere and service

Visitors frequently praise Roma for its warm, attentive service and a dining room that feels both polished and comfortable. Many reviews mention being greeted with warm house bread and flavored oil, and the overall vibe is quiet enough for a business dinner or romantic evening. If you prefer a TV‑free meal, seating toward the back is often noted as especially peaceful.

What solo diners and work travelers order

Solo diners and those dining between meetings tend to choose items that are satisfying without requiring a long time commitment. Popular picks from traveler reports include a crisp Caesar salad to start and pasta entrees like shrimp linguine pomodoro for a filling, flavorful single‑plate meal. Peroni on tap and generously poured wines are mentioned by business travelers who want to relax after the day.

Comforting dishes after a long drive or flight

After travel, guests often seek hearty Italian comfort food — Roma’s chicken parmigiana, veal dishes, shrimp ravioli, and cheese pizza are consistently recommended in reviews as both generous and flavorful. The house bread with oil dressing is a simple comfort many travelers recall fondly, making it a satisfying first bite when you’ve been on the road.

Drinks, starters and small plates worth trying

If you’re ordering a lighter meal or sharing, starters like Caesar salad, the soup of the day, or a small pasta sampler are convenient choices. Reviewers note good drink options — including draft Peroni and approachable wines — which pair nicely with pasta and seafood selections.

Gluten‑free and dietary considerations

Roma offers some gluten‑free options (for example, gluten‑free penne with shrimp has been recommended by customers). Reviewers who need gluten‑free choices appreciate the availability but also ask for more variety; if you have strict dietary needs, call ahead to confirm which dishes can be prepared safely and whether sauces or preparations meet your requirements.

Takeout and late‑night convenience for travelers

Many travelers take advantage of Roma’s efficient takeout. Guests report pickup orders being ready quickly and well packaged — a good option if you prefer to eat in your hotel room. For late arrivals, reviews suggest the staff are accommodating when informed in advance; if you expect to arrive after typical dinner hours, a quick phone call to check service availability is a smart move.

Managing waits, reservations and timing

Roma can be busy during peak dinner times; a few guests have mentioned longer waits. To avoid delays, consider making a reservation when possible, eat earlier, or place a takeout order. If you’re on a tight schedule — for example, catching an early morning flight or returning to work — let the host know and staff will typically help move things along.

Practical tips for getting the most from your visit

Plan to enjoy Roma as part of your downtown Aberdeen stay: walk over from your hotel, ask about gluten‑free or vegetarian substitutions if needed, and consider takeout for late nights. A recent guest who stayed at the adjoining hotel mentioned enjoying a Caesar and shrimp linguine as a convenient, memorable meal — a good example of what many travelers find satisfying here. For the address, directions, or to check current service times, contact the restaurant directly before you head out.

Customer review

I was in town tonight for work and stayed at the hotel adjoining. The restaurant. Came down to have a nice meal and enjoyed it immensely. Great service and excellent food. The Caesar salad was delicious and the shrimp linguine pomodoro was fantastic! Peroni is on tap and the wine was generous. Definitely a nice little gem in Aberdeen!
